I installed this using an existing magnet. It worked perfectly for well over a year then got hung up in the closed condition with the door opened. I replaced it with another from the same package - same problem intermittently. Not recommended.

I used one of them to make a kill switch for my vehicle about a year ago and still works great. I keep the magnet stuck to the bottom of my seat and glued the other piece behind my dash so when I need to start my vehicle I just put the magnet up to the dash and it works perfectly.

I set up the switch with a 12 volt car bulb it was off when I placed the magnet in front of it the bulb came on but after removing the magnet the bulb stayed on. Not what I expected

Three out of five worked; the other two were always on. I thought I must be setting something up wrong until I tested them with my multimeter and found they were indeed always on even when the magnets were not anywhere near. Luckily I only needed three... but it was a hassle and if I had needed all five it would have been a problem.

Bought for use as a mechanical position sensor. Never made it to project because application wasn’t suited for magnetic reed switches due to high vibration (mounted on throttle control of small single cylinder engine). A reed switch can chatter on and off or fail mechanically due to high vibration. I checked several of the contacts and they work fine. Decent quality at low price so I put them in the parts locker for future use. Used a Hall effect sensor for the high vibration application which is a bit more complicated due to additional driver circuitry but it’s solid state and immune to shock and vibe. Gave them 5 stars for functional for alarm application and quality for the price.

Purchased these switches to replace door and window wired switches that had corroded over the years. They were easy to install and are weather resistant. Works great and priced very reasonably.
