As long as it’s supplied with electricity, the insulation should prevent freezing while not overheating. The 2-wire, without plug, design is also made for efficient convenience (red lead wire for power and white ground wire). Created to be placed in a fixed position, you won’t need to plug it in every time you need to insulate your pipes. Instead, simply let it go to work while you go to play.

I used these to upgrade my RVs water tanks and plumbing for winter camp living. They get 112°F which is the same as tank heaters for a fraction of the price! I also purchased a 4-gang switch panel so I can turn it on and off depending on the temps.

Bought a 10 pack. Wrapped 6 or 7 of them (as many as I could without overlapping) around the 3 to 4ish feet of gray and black drain pipe that was unprotected and wired them into my current heat tank switches. Then wrapped them in insulation and finished it all off with some black HVAC tape. Job looked good and should have held thru the occasional single digit weather we had this last winter. But no, now I have to repair broken pipes.Best I can tell from where the cracks were is that 3 or 4 of these pads were defective and not function. I tested them before installing and tested the supply power before removing and everything was working fine other than now the pads are not functioning.I recommended spending your money on a better product. These are a joke and ended up costing me money and time. Don't make the same mistake I did.

We are camping in an old airstream for 3 weeks and the nights are getting down into the teens. Daytime up in the 40's.We put these on the water pipes in the back. Hooked right up to the the battery. There is some propane heat that get back there but not much. Works great. No frozen pipes. We turn these on with a switch in the RV for about 12 hours at night. Draw on the battery is minimal. Good product. Highly recommend. Easy tp apply.
