Like nearly all of Remo's products this is a full 5-Star product. This drum head is the closest thing to a real calf's skin drum head, both in tone and feel. The responsiveness is beyond description. Drumming can be a really tactile experience, you can use your drumsticks using a brush technique for a very unique "voice".

Fit great on my 1962 Slingerland snare, the head has just enough room to breathe, whereas a modern/regular sized head would make contact early on the up curve from the flesh hoop; it seated nicely, looks great, and sounds great

What this excelled at is fit! First time in 40 years that my batter head has fit my vintage Gretsch Progressive Jazz snare drum! And I mean it fits properly. There is room to spare and the batter hoop also fits the outside of the flesh hoop of the head. So, I will never get any other head for my Gretsch again. Durability and longevity, what can you say about something you hit hundreds of times in short spaces of time? Other brands have more durable coatings. They just do. But they don’t fit. The one other brand that does fit feels thick and dampens the responsiveness of the drum. I’m finally getting the fit and tone I’ve looked for all these years. Thanks Remo.
