I need to evaluate further to know whether this diameter or the specific one I received has a tuning problem. I do not get the very nice resonance from it that I get from the 10, 12 and 14 inch. I am very puzzled by this. Anyone know? Next step is to buy another 13" drumhead when I have time and need to deal with it. In any case, I very much like the resonance with the other sizes and especially like the appearance with my set of gloss black drums (gloss heads would not look as appealing to me, let alone sound as nice).

Looks are one thing you get with these. the other is being able to tune a bit higher and still have great lows and not to pingy higher un useable frequencies. I love these in the studio! I even use these on both side of a snare to get the rudest kick you behind , donkey punchin low snare ever. not for every day but it was good for the dry drums of this post punk act.
