I intended on buying a Coated Emperor.As for a Smooth Emperor goes, no doubt they have their applications. I prefer the tone of Coated Emperors.

Nice drum head but not what I was looking for. I did send it back and received a full refund.

This head (smooth white) or a clear emperor does sound frickn' awesome. The advantage with the smooth white.. you really have a hard time seeing the stick marks on the heads. However, I should warn you.. I use emperors on both top and bottom. Love it.. but that's me. Check it out you might like it.
