It's huge. This thing is massive. Make sure you have the room for it. The only thing I do not like about it is that it does not transfer heat across the entire surface of the plate. So that means you have to lower it more for the chicks. The center heats up to 113 and does not stay consistent. 2 inches from the center it reads 98 degrees. That's a big deal for me. I have mine set about 3 inches from the floor just to keep the chicks warm. That's way to low. Would I buy it again, NO.

We kept losing baby chicks to suffocation due to huddling together to stay warm (they were in a brooder box with heat lamp). We decided to give this a try and we haven’t lost a single one since!!!

Barely generates any heat, leaving cold little birds unless they're pressed right up against the plate. Well packaged though, and easy instructions. Maybe I just have a dud, but either way I now I have to run off to the farm store for a heat lamp.

Rentacoop delivers once again! This is the only brood plate I have found with a larger capacity. I like how they are a safer alternative to heat lamps, and this one is HUGE. It can hold up to 50 chicks, and it warms up quickly. My chicks love it. An FYI for first timers, the roof accessory is a MUST, unless you want the plate caked in chicken poop. Easy to adjust, set up takes 10 seconds, and my chicks are clearly very happy.

10/10 absolutely worth the price! All my little chicks are so happy and the height levels are so easy to adjust. Don’t waste your time or money and just get it!

The heating plate is great. The cone for the top is extremely flimsy

We went to this brand from a heat lamp and never looked back! We’ve bought the 16x16 and the 20x 64 and love them. The temperature stays pretty regular-we’ve seen it increase a bit-but the best part is that the chicks can get all the way under, partially unde, or out all together, without worrying we’ll set the brooder on fire 🔥 The cone on top is pricey and if you can make it out of cardboard I’d suggest that for what you’ll pay-but it is nice.

I cannot sing enough praise to this heat plate. Used for quail, chicken and turkey chicks. Birds like it, have never had a burned chick. Height adjustment is easy and can be accomplished without removing unit from brooder. Unit is stable, has never tipped over. Legs have never collapsed. The no roost top is a wonderful feature. And I did not need to cobble some homemade rig together, so much the better. One needs to power unit up a few hours before intended use as to heat up the mass such that a gentle radiant heat is given off to chicks.
