This replacement battery works like a charm and it brought my old Nook Color back to life. The Nook Color is one of my favorite reading devices, and I was so sad to think that it might be at the end of its life. However, this battery made it good as new. It was a bit tricky to install, but I would suggest looking up a video on YouTube for instructions. Now I can enjoy my Nook for at least another eight years!

I'll adjust this later depending on how well the battery performs.I received the package and was ready to install the battery. Took out the toolkit and knew something was wrong when trying to extract the first two screws on my Nook Color. Scraped the paper covering the two screw heads and noted that they required a T-5 TORX driver; not included. Screwdriver provided was a Phillips and didn't work. Any attempt to continue would result in stripped screw heads and a major extraction problem!Would be a time waster to return the item and reorder. On Amazon you can buy a single T-5 tool, or a kit containing seven TORX drivers of various sizes. Additionally a couple of tweezers I didn't have, plus two small regular screwdrivers. The kit was $5 more then the solo driver and I ordered it. Got it two days later, and am starting the project today.

Battery worked fine after installation for a few minutes. Then the nook screen went blank. Recharged for eight hours but screen would never come back on again. Placed Used battery back in nook and it worked fine. The battery sent to me must be defective. I am sending it back for replacement from Amazon.

Getting to the battery was easy and getting the old one out was fine. The issues start when trying to get the new battery connected to the Nook. It took forever to get it done and the tool provided broke half way though. Quality of the tools leave a lot to be desired as they break very easily. After install and charging , the Nook works just fine.

Seems to work. Unfortunate that the capacity is less than the original battery. My complaint is with the type of connector used here by B and N. It doesn't attach very securely, and after installing this replacement I had a lot of trouble getting it to make a good connection (symptoms are that it won't turn on or that it starts acting possessed, clicking on things as if someone else is controlling it).Anyway I put the connector firmly in place, but even when it seemed like it had locked in place, when I tested it out (and it didn't work) and I opened it back up I would find that it was barely on there. Eventually I took some electrical tape and folded it over itself again and again to make a lump, then taped the lump over the connector. That way once the back cover is put on it will apply pressure to the connector and keep it in place. Some sort of removable glue would probably be good, so long as you could replace it again in the future.To get the connector off, it's easiest to use a stiff wire or thin tool to pry gently under the wires right where they come of of the connector. It takes very little force to take it off. The biggest pain of this process is snaking the old connector and wire through the small passageway to the battery compartment, and then snaking the new connector and wire back through that tunnel when you put in the new battery. Takes time and patience...

The battery worked fine after installation. The tools included were pretty close to worthless, but I have jeweler's tools so that was no issue. After charging it a few times, it seems to have revived my wife's olf NOOK, which has many miles on it.

I'm giving the battery 5 stars although I have to admit it never got installed correctly in my Nook. Believe me, the youtube videos for replacement make the job look a lot easier than it actually is. The connectors in the Nook are very difficult to disconnect and the wiring is very small and easily pulled out of the connectors....I finally gave up and trashed he Nook...fortunately I also have a Kindle Fire (and no, I don't know if I can replace the battery if needed) and I looked up on the net' how to load Nook for PC onto the Kindle and access all 168 of my stored Nook books.

This battery was fairly easy to install and works well. Watch the "how t"o u-tube video and you wil lbe up to speed. Work over a catch basin of some type, like a shallow brownie baking pan. Then when you drop one of the many little screws involved you will not loose it.
