My masterbuilt smoker was blowing the gfi as soon as I plugged it in. I traced the problem to the heating element and installed this replacement. It is now working perfectly. The installation is a little difficult and dirty but not too bad. This element fit exactly as the old one did.

Not too difficult to install, watched a youtube video. Make sure you confirm you're looking at the same model, as some of the mounting screw locations are different in the different models. Some are more cumbersome to get to the element than others. Overall, simple replacement, took about 30 mins because I have an older model with a less accessible heating element. But saved me hundreds by avoiding a full replacement of the smoker. Ours was tripping the breaker and I thought this was worth a shot before trashing it, very happy I did, we've used it several times with no issues after the element replacement.

I bought this because of the reviews. Although I had an older model and it took awhile to get the old one out and this new one in, it was well worth it. My old smoker is working fine now and I have a second smoker for when I do big batches of smoked fish or ribs.

Works as intended. However, this was the 3rd heating coil I have replaced in 3 yrs. I wish they'd last longer.
