My electric fireplace came with a garbage remote that I needed to stand about three feet from the fireplace to make it work. Now I can sit on the sofa and operate my fireplace. This should be the standard remote controls for similar fireplaces like mine.

There are no instructions included in the package nor found anywhere online! Was not able to make it compatible with my electric fireplace.
