Hopefully I’ll never give this item a proper use case review. Purchased it to strap to my life jacket while sailing the great lakes should I ever find myself in a MOB situation. I love the ultra compact design, sturdy construction and the basic functionality without bells & whistles really appeals to me.My other consideration was the garmin inreach mini 2. In the end, the simple subscription free device was the right call. I have starlink for general communications so connectivity on the boat isn’t an issue.

I used this regularly for years until I forgot to zip a pocket and lost it on a dirt bike ride.I'm planning to buy a replacement. I don't have a way of knowing how well it would have worked, but the tests worked so I have to assume it was functioning. It's very compact and easy to bring with you whenever you want the peace of mind that if something bad happens people will have a chance of finding your body before it decomposes or possible even rescue you.

I’m suspicious this item is used. Completely open box , nothing sealed at all. Packaging looks worn and old.

It gives us peace of mind knowing our family member is covered as the accuracy of the unit is good.

Nice size. Battery experation date April 2029. Not a lot said about antenna. Your suppose to open flap, push button, pull out antenna, then lay it flat on ground with antenna facing up towards sky. Doesn't float and not designed to be used while floating in water. Guess if your boat sank you could float on your back and either set it on your chest or hold it above water. Either way you got to get that antenna pointed up and the beacon out of the water. Can't use antenna with it is attached to your gear unless you maybe figured out a way to attach it to top of your shoulder with antenna going up by your head. I bet that flashing intense beacon light would be annoying if you had it attached that close to your face. Ok, it might be a little uncomfortable operating it while floating in the ocean, but it's managable. Can be attached to your gear/belt by either floating poch or clip. Both are belt loop style. There's an additional string to us as back up. Registration was easy and needs to be renewed every two years. Testing easy, but only allowed during first five minutes at top of each hour. Personally, I'm really happy with it. I can take it with me wherever and it's small enough to stick on my belt and not get in the way.

Looks like a good device, small and light weight. Upon receiving the device I conducted a test. It indicated two green flashes, initially this concerned me but after a very long time on the phone with ACR finally got to a technician that clarifies that the number of flashes actually indicates the number of hours used. All new ones should have two green flashes. 1 green to indicate it passes and then one green to indicate less than one hour of use on the device. This is on page 9 of the manual but it is not clear or intuitive. If the device has been used for more than one hour then you need to count the number of yellow flashes to determine how long it has been used.
