I've been using this on a relatively thin sit-stand desk from Ikea. For a couple of reasons, I've ended up taking this off for now.Installation is easy, with a couple of clamps at either end securing the wrist rest to the desk. However, if you place any weight on the rest, it does have a tendency to lean down. I don't feel like it'll come off, but it certainly doesn't have a sturdy feel to it.The padding is good the support it provides is definitely better than not having anything at all. It's a good replacement for the padded type of wrist rest that sits next to your keyboard. One big issue for me is that, as I shuffle around in my chair throughout the day, my knees are at risk of bashing into one of the two clamps underneath which secure it to the desk. I do rearrange myself quite often throughout a workday, and would painfully bash one of my knees on a clamp at least 3-4 times a day. After having enough of that, I ended up removing the wrist rest from my desk and went back to a traditional desktop rest instead.Bottom line: sturdiness will depend on your desk's thickness probably, and get some padding for the clamps to save your knees. You may find more value spending less for a desktop wrist rest if you have the space for one.

This was easy to assemble out of the box and clamped on my desk with no issue. This definitely helps with a lot of comfort with my arms and wrist while working on my computer. The padding is very comfortable but firm, and overall feels very sturdy.
