I have two different ones and this one does not meet my needs. My puppies are close to 20 pounds and the plastic grate is not strong enough not to dip down with their weight - their paws still get wet. Plus, the plastic grate is difficult to clean if the stool is not hard. Would be good or small dogs under 10 pouds.

I have purchased four of these. All of my dogs will destroy a pee pad in a matter of minutes. These keep that from happening. I have one in each of their kennels. I have two dogs with mild incontinence so this helps them to not mess their beds.

The Richell Paw Trax mesh training tray is a must have if you’re potty training your new puppy. It securely holds the pee pad in place. The whole top comes off easily to replace the pad but you can easily separate the two top pieces to easily clean it. I spray an enzyme cleaner on a paper towel and wipe the surfaces with each pad change and frequently remove the top and clean the entire tray in the bath tub. The tray is very sturdy and lies flat on the floor. This tray is best for small dogs and puppies because it’s not very big. The price is higher than other training trays but it’s worth the extra dollars. The HoneyCare small pee pads fit this perfectly.

This potty is working great for my little dog. She uses a smaller style in another area of our house, but I like that I don’t have to fold the disposable training pads as much for them to fit this one. In the photos the potty has two or three Glad charcoal liners that are 23” x 23” and a Frisco 22x23 liner on bottom. I only have to fold down the sides for them to fit perfectly, and I can just lift the lid and remove the top wet liner and replace . The top can be easily wiped clean or washed as needed. (FYI- The Frisco liners seem more absorbent, but the charcoal liners hide the wet spots.) I am pleased with the size, style, ease of daily cleaning, and durability of this product. My dog is under 8lbs, but, if needed, I think this could work for dogs a bit larger and heavier.

This is a Japanese product, and no american puppy pads fit it. Also, the pad is supposed to go under the grate. To be honest that sounds disgusting if not impossible to clean. I use it to cover up puppy accidents while they are drying after cleaning. Waste of money.

We purchased two of these mesh training trays for our two Shih Tzu puppies that are currently being potty trained. The pink is a nice and vibrant color. The product itself is attractive, well made, and is a sturdy plastic material. We were having a problem with our puppies ripping apart the wee-wee pads, and this tray helped solve that problem. We were very happy with that. Our puppies aren't able to open the tray and remove the pad from inside. Our puppies did bite/scratch the corners of this tray, but it still has held up well. We recently started applying the bitter apple spray to the outer corners of the tray to prevent them from biting on it.I would have given this product 5 stars, if the mesh tray was elevated from the rest of the apparatus. The paws of our puppies still gets wet at times, since the mesh tray lays on the flat bottom surface. If the mesh had some elevating points, it would help prevent their paws from getting wet.We purchased two of these trays, and placed them side by side, so the curved design was a slight annoyance because sometimes our puppies pee in between both holders where the gap from the curve is.For clean up, we change the wee wee pads under the tray around twice daily. Sometimes when our puppies potty, the poop does get stuck in between the mesh tray and it is a little difficult/annoying to clean out. But I would rather clean it up than deal with the wee wee pads being teared apart without this tray. Every 3-4 days I thoroughly clean both of the trays in our bathtub with a sponge, toothbrush, soap and water. I would recommend using a old tooth brush to help clean between the mesh tray and get any stuck on poop particles out.We recently purchased two of the Petphabet Puppy Training Pad Holders. They are almost the same in size compared to the Richell one. I personally prefer the Petphabet Tray more, since the mesh grate is elevated, and thus our puppies paws have been staying dry, which is a big plus. Also the design of the Petphabet Tray is rectangular, and therefore there is no gap when we place both trays side by side which is also a plus. I would say that the Richell Mesh Training Tray is definitely more sturdier compared to the Petphabet one.Overall, I would still recommend the Richell Paw Training Tray. As mentioned earlier, it is well made and is sturdy. It helps to prevent the wee wee pads from being torn apart. It would have been 5/5 if the mesh part of the tray were a little elevated. That is the only con that I can see with this product.

When we first got our Boston terrier pup we started training him to the training pads. This worked out fine for a while until he decided the pad could make great snacks between meals esp. after using the pads! I know disgusting right? Well it gets worse. We decided to stop using pads altogether. We had success with the litter box with another dog we had in the past ( a Maltese, much smarter!). Well our Boston decided the litter box was a great place to potty and then play in it too! You can imagine the horror of finding your dog in mid play inside his litter box that he urinates and deficates in and catching him with his toys amongst his turds (which he eats as as well! Gross! I know, we are working on it!). So you can understand my desperation to find a better in door alternative. Then I find this lovely contraption that houses the training pad and “locks” the pad away from him while allowing him to still go potty. Cut to the heavens opening up and the angles singing “Hallelujah” ! It been almost a month. His pin stays so much cleaner. No litter tracked everywhere and no ripped pieces of filthy used pads. No more ingesting the used pads either he can’t get to the pad! Clean up is easy. Everything wipes down and its super easy to change the pads. The poop is easy to clean as he only gets dry dog food so easy pickup! This is a great product I only wish we had seen it sooner! Our dog is an indoor dog he is rarely outside so this is used constantly. We go through two pads a day! Not sure this this is good for large breeds (more urine content could lead to overflow) or really smart dogs who can figure out how to get the grate off. If you have a small to medium sized dog who is obssessed with training pads this is the best!

The only downside is the grate sits right on top of the pottypad so sometimes there are wet paws. I also love the look of this, but I wish the corners didn't come out so far. Sometimes my dogs poop falls between the tray and the wall because of the little gap of space. Even if one side was totally straight, that would have helped a lot.Helps with my cats trying to "burry" my dogs pee.. aka ripped the pee pads - this stops that with the plastic mesh tray! also keeps poop off the pad, directly.

I bought this for my 4 month old Morkie after reading some reviews here, was skeptical. My puppy used to bite chew and rip all the pee pads. But once she used this she wasn't able to rip it at all and she is trained to use it. You can move it from room to room and she knows where her toilet is. It is also very easy to clean.
