What does solenoid do?
The solenoid acts like an electromagnetic switch, it engages and routes the battery electrical supply to the engine starter when the ignition switch is rotated to the start position. Unfortunately, over time it may wear out or get damaged eventually requiring a replacement. This kit contains only starter solenoid, you will need a screwdriver and a wrench set to perform this repair.
- How do you know if a solenoid is bad on a lawn mower?
- First, turn the ignition key to the “On” position.
- Look for the large terminal posts on the solenoid where the thick red wires connect to the solenoid.
- Touch the metal shaft of a screwdriver to both of the large terminals at the same time.
- If the engine turns over and starts, the solenoid is bad and should be replaced.

Fit was exactly like what came off but still hasn’t been able to get it to crank it has been working fine with old one until battery problems bought a brand new battery for it and still a nothing for me to use it for except spend money
