With 2 scales the 2126-D gradiometer has an upper scale in ±45 percent grade (%), and a lower scale in ±26 degrees (º). All our tubes are filled with a special damping fluid that controls the movement of the ball and will operate in wide MIL SPEC temperatures. Everything about this is pretty good. It’s solid, the molding/casting was accurate. The ball moves freely and is very sensitive. I mounted it below my radio on the dash of my Tacoma overlander to make sure that when I’m pulling into a spot where I’m going to sleep, that I’m level (laterally) and so far it has worked out really well. As many dashboards, and most surfaces on the inside of a vehicle, have a compound curve to them, I had to modify the level Because it is flat on the back. I counter-bored two holes from the back, into which I inserted two cylindrical spacers, and then screwed from the front into the plastic dashboard. Solid!

I mounted this in my skidsteer to grade a road. AMAZING! It’s easily read, accurate, and I like the fluid is thick so it doesn’t jump around. This thing helped me grade 1,000 feet of road and the result was way better than by eye alone. Three thumbs up. And, it didn’t break which is the norm for my jobs. So it’s durable too.
