I’ve purchased this mat for my son who’s only 5 years old and really enjoys coming fishing with me, it’s absolutely perfect for what he needs it’s lightweight and clips onto his little bag perfectly. He can’t wait to get out and use it now.

I love this mat. It is so helpful for removing hooks without harming the fish on stony ground or a sandy beach. It is perfect for catch-and-release.

I purchased this mat solely for my ultra light lure fishing exploits. It is very light and the right size to enable species such as perch, chub and small pike to be placed on therefore providing adequate protection from rough ground. The mat does not necessarily have to be thick for these size of fish just big enough to aid a quick unhooking procedure and a safe, swift return. It rolls up compactly and is attached to my carryall. The size and weight is negligible and does not interfere with my fishing whatsoever. Overall, very well made and totally appropriate for this style of fishing. Any other fishing applications like for instance carp , large tench and bream and bigger pike will certainly require a much larger, thicker unhooking mat. Very happy with this purchase. Thank you.

Annoying to roll and its so short. Make a Grass Carp version? Most fish run well over the mat defeating its purpose.

Like that I get cleaner photos. The tape on fabric gives a decent feel for fish size. Nice clip to latch on to gear and carry.Wish the Velcro allowed to roll tighter. Hooking loops if you wanted to weigh it in there are close making it awkward. Fabric a little tough to clean of slime.Happy with it. Gets used for every fish now. I just need bigger fish to fill it out
