User should know that the floss is not cotton DMC. It is a wool blend and slippery to use.

Exactly as shown. Thread is different than the DMC that I am used to but nice on aida cloth.

Most of all my floss have been DMC. This one is different and makes the owl seem more real like. Some have complained about the floss tearing or pulling apart. I've had no problem with working with long pieces a foot or more long.

I have done many counted cross stitch patterns. This is a beautiful pattern and the fabric and threads are really nice quality. The kit is from Europe, however, and the fabric is a bit different from what I am accustomed to. I am not sure what size the mesh is, and the instructions are not clear whether the stitching should be done over two spaces or only one (the mesh is really small). So, it is going to be a bit of a challenge at first to figure this out, but I feel I am up to it. The end result should be beautiful.

This is an beautiful kit, and I will be purchasing more kits from Riolis in the future. The kit includes plenty of fabric- in fact I had to trim mine down to fit it onto my frame and the trimmings are large enough to use for other projects. The thread isn't typical embroidery floss, but I found it to be an absolute joy to work with and had lots left over when I was done. Since it isn't pre-cut, I was able to cut the thread to the lengths I was most comfortable working with, and it resisted tangling much more than regular embroidery floss. No waxing needed. The limited color palette made it very easy to memorize the chart symbols, and the kit is worked all in whole stitches with a very small amount of back stitching. I was able to complete it in one month working a few hours a day, and enjoyed every second of it.

This is a beautiful kit. I love the use of flower thread rather than floss, haven't started it yet but am really looking forward to it. And it was a wonderful deal, half the price I see it in other catalogs.

Beautiful picture! I recommend completing it in small stages as this project is complicated and takes a long time.
