It seems like whenever I need to add or replace a rivet nut, I have to go buy them. Not anymore, now that I have this little assortment on hand. They're aluminum so they're not ideal for any application but they work well for most. I need to buy a better rivet nut setter now. This assortment costs about as much as the gas it would take to drive back and forth to the specialty hardware store that stocks these, so ordering an assortment in advance is a no-brainer!

These are a good assortment for the price. My rivnut gun came with a few of various sizes but I ran out of many pretty quickly. The aluminum is a good material and they seem to pinch in well using my tool. Also, being aluminum, I don't have to worry about rust. All the ones I've used so far are threaded good and crimp as expected. The case is a great bonus as I was able to store the ones that came with my tool there rather than the thin plastic bags they came in.

This is a great all-around set for light duty applications. Of course, installing rivet nuts is always easier if you have the proper tool but it's also readily doable with basic hand tools. Would recommend.

While refurbishing my 55-year-old Gitan road bike, I decided to add two water bottle holders to replace the strap-on holders I had been using for many years. With the proper metric bit I was able to drill holes in both the downtube and seat tube and press the rivet nuts into place. (I drilled a practice hole in a steel pipe with a standard quarter inch drill bit but found the hole to be too small for the rivet. I purchased a 6.8mm Metric M35 bit that drilled perfect holes.) I screwed the holders on with stainless steel metric screws giving the bike greater functionality than it had before. The job was so easy that I also added rivets to my wife's bike so that she could position her water bottle holder at a more convenient height.
