Overall I think these will work fine. I had to add a little lead-in to the back of the clip. See before and after pictures. This mimicked the Shimano pedal. Without it, it was very hard to get my shoes to lock in.

Bought them for a trail riding bike tour I was doing. Sort of stiff to clip in at first but then it got more broken in by the end of the first day. Pretty normal for SPDs. Great grip on the nonspd side. Scuffed up paint after 150 miles of trail but still going strong. Would recommend.

Well-made pedals with excellent spikes on the flat side and easy clip function. Not a lot of clip adjustment, but enough.

I've been really impressed with these pedals overall – they're a breeze to install and feel rock-solid. The grip provided by the pins on the non-clip side is sufficient for leisurely rides on easy trails or around town. Admittedly, I wouldn't trust them for anything too intense. Now, onto the clip side – they perform admirably. However, there's a frustrating flaw that's been echoed in other reviews: the adjustability of the tension is disappointingly limited. After just one or maybe two adjustments, the hex bolt becomes utterly useless. It's baffling how easily they seem to strip, especially considering my tools are in fine shape. I even went as far as purchasing a new set, only to encounter the same issue when I couldn't tighten them any further. This has become a major annoyance, particularly after putting around 75 miles on these pedals. With time, as the springs wear out, adjusting the tension becomes necessary. Yet, here I am, stuck with whatever tension they're currently set at or faced with the prospect of buying new pedals altogether. As much as I've enjoyed using these, I'm leaning towards switching to a different brand that doesn't suffer from this particular flaw. While they're fantastic for testing the waters of riding clipped in, they simply don't hold up for longer-term, moderate to intense usage.

Jack of all trades, master of none... You know the compromise game, but it is worth it if you want to ride both clips and street shoes on the same pedal. You will probably feel the clip lump under your regular shoes, and your SPD cleat will not find the cleat on the first try. Cornering angle is reduced from your normal cleat experience. I am very late to the dual purpose pedal scene (my partner has had a Shimano model for almost a decade) but I finally bought these for my e bike so I can ride to access hiking trails. Also going to the store. Fantastic to not be switching pedals anymore, or bringing a change of shoes! Love it!This is the first pinned platform pedal I've used, and it gives a wide and secure feel underfoot. Also, the cleat engagement mechanism is well-designed to outlast other off-brand models. It resembles the classic Shimano design of cleat engagement that has lasted me decades...I expect a long life from these as well.Note: new out-of-the-box, they clip in/out VERY stiffly. Be patient...they break-in just fine.

I've already purchased several sets of RockBros regular flat pedals for some project bikes I'm rebuilding, so it was a no-brainer to order a set of these for my new mountain bike. I like having the option of SPD cleats for long climbs and sprints, while having the flat-pedal option for single track and downhilling. I'd looked at some pricier pedals with these same features, but because of my previous experiences with the regular pedals, I decided to give these a try. I'm extremely happy with the purchase, and have some recommendations. I like these pedals because when you're using the SPD side, you have lots of "float" on the pedal... you can twist your foot around without disengaging, which I really like. I always set the tension for as loose as it will go, as I like to be able to kick out of them very quickly, or if I wreck, I want my feet to disengage so I'm not tumbling with the bike still attached to me. That's a big plus with these pedals. On the flip side, the flat-pedal section is great and works exactly as expected. One thing to note if you get these pedals... you might want to get a pair of shoes that works well with both sides. Mostly likely, your regular SPD cleated shoes will have fairly hard soles, which aren't ideal for the pegged flat pedal side. I ended up buying a new pair of SPD shoes with softer soles so that they would grip better on the flat-pedal side. Some of the more comfortable touring shoes will serve this purpose... I ended up buying some Tomasso shoes that don't have a lot of tread, and have softer walking soles, and they're the perfect combo for using both sides. Overall, I'm really impressed with these for the price. They work exactly as I expected, and the cost was within anyone's budget. Why spend over $100 for some of these types of pedals when you can get these for a fraction of that?
