Got a set and was able to control with remote, the performance of the light is top notch brightness, very easy to program and it comes with brackets to hang with very little weight. It looks awesome with smoke machine.

The lights were fine with good color and brightness however, we needed this for our theater production and they did not integrate with our other DMX lighting. We tried several DMX addresses and each time the chain would be broken for all the lighting after these two bar lights. Several responses from other users indicated that it may work if you set it to address 001, however that would have caused an issue with all our pre-programmed lighting.

A really good light for the money, but can show a bit of an uneven outline of the lights one light has a red outline to it, so not the greatest for higher production situations where color accuracy matters. Great for pretty much everything else.

The Rockville Rockstrip is essentially as close to perfect as a lightbar can be. I’m very OCD about presentation, so that’s not a statement that I make very often. This item is a professional level light, sold for less than it should cost. Before buying this light, my question was whether or not the remote works. Despite the phenominal price, that was important for me for when I have a limited amount of time to set up in a venue. Some people stated the remote doesn’t work, and some people stated that it does work. Strangely enough, both statements are actually correct. It turns out that the first model didn’t respond to the remote well. Rockville quietly fixed this issue on all of the later revisions, but due to people either getting the newer model, where the remote functions perfectly, or the older one, where it doesn’t, they discounted what is still literally a $200 product. The Rockstrip is sturdy, impeccably built, and it has heft to it due to premium materials, as well as top notch LEDs, all for $70. You will not find any light that’s this good for anywhere near that price. I know this because I have 3 other lights like this, one that’s the same size, and the other 2, which are half the size. All of them, the smaller models included, cost far far more than this, yet none of them are even remotely better. In my case, I brought it new, but the remote was missing, leading me to think that maybe I got the older model. I know the remote works because one of my many DJ LED light remotes functions with this light. The colors don’t match up because it’s not the correct remote though, so Rockville offered to send me the official remote. As for the quality of the LEDs, they’re amazingly bright. My other lightbars do not have the same high range this has. To put this into perspective, I live in an artist loft with 23 foot ceilings. As you can see in my photo, the light goes all the way up to the ceiling. Judging by the way the lighting cone is still strong at that height, if my ceilings were taller, the Rockstrip would probably still reach the ceiling. The other light I have that’s the same size as this one goes up to roughly 15 feet before tapering off.The Rockstrip would definitely be worth $200, even though it cost far, far less than that. The light has a daisy chain power outlet to connect other Rockville Rockstrips to, full featured DMX modes that work brilliantly with my settings, remote support for the newer revisions, and a detachable power cable. The case is steel, and it’s clear glass that reveals the LEDs is also high quality. Even if you get it, and for any reason the remote doesn’t work for you, it’s still worth every penny because it simply has unbelievable range. I recommend keeping the solid foam packaging material, and placing it into a speaker stand bag to transport it. It’ll stay protected, and it’ll be easy to carry. I use the $15 Rockville speaker stand bag sold on Amazon to transport it, with the fitted foam on the inside.
