I've considered buying a hoe like this for several years but the price was off putting. What convinced me to go ahead and spend the money on it was, in the reviews, there is a video of a guy cutting through weeds like butter using one hand. It absolutely does what he shows it doing in the video. I have cut thick blackberry briars, tree seedlings, wide leaf plantain, Bermuda grass, and a whole bunch of other weeds off below the soil line one handed while sitting in a lawn chair. For quickly knocking down weeds in places you don't want to use herbicides in your garden or flower beds nothing I've ever used beats this tool. It takes the chore out of hoeing the garden and the blade gets into tight spaces that a regular hoe can't. What is really cool about it is that it can be used one handed while sitting in a lawn chair so it's a great tool for people with physical disabilities or just us lazy gardeners. I do think the price is too high for a garden tool with a wood handle so I probably won't buy a second one unless the price comes down. Meanwhile, we'll just keep fighting over who gets to use it around here.

A friend suggested this hoe. Excellent design. Can be used pushing forward or pulling back. Held at the right angle, it will move just below the surface and cut the weeds. I have always used a small tiller to cultivate. This hoe is just as fast. So nice not to breath the fumes or deal with the noise of the tiller. Highly recommended.

Although it took longer than expected to receive the rogue hoe, my husband and I are amazed at how well it actually removed grass and weeds from around our garden plants. I thought I should have brought a rake the first time to rake away all the grass that I removed, but when we went back the next time, the majority had dried up. I was so impressed with it, I posted on FB about it. I would definitely buy it again.

The blade is tough and sharp. Lightweight ash handle. Made in Kansas. Worth the money.

I had been looking for one of these garden tools forever! Didn’t know what it was called. This is the best tool ever for aerating your garden beds or removing weeds. This product is super well made with heavy steel and a sturdy handle. All three sides of the triangular head are sharp and can be used. Ideal getting into tight spaces around plants as well as dispatching those persistant weeds that sprout in gravel paths with ease.

This hoe lets you remove weeds from a substantial area quickly. Unlike a standard hoe that brings up too many new weed seeds to germinate, this one works just under the surface bringing up fewer new weeds. Conversely, this isn't intended for working up new soil. It's light enough, and the handle is long enough for a tall person to use easily. It's fairly sharp out of the box, but it will occasionally need re-sharpening after use in sandy soil.Any hoe can take out small or scattered large weeds. This one also makes short work of removing old dead sod. It might help with moss, too.

This scuffle hoe is new, but already it's the best tool in my shed. I've used it for weeding mulched garden beds. What makes the hoe so effective are the very low cutting angle, the unusually sharp edges, and the thin but sturdy shaft the attaches the cutting plate to the handle. As the cutting plate slides along the soil beneath the mulch, the shaft doesn't displace mulch as you move the hoe, and the cutting edge is sharp enough to cut both thin and thick stems on the first pass. The plate is a triangle and all three sides are ground at a low angle and to a relatively high degree of sharpness. It's small enough to work between most of the plants in my beds but large enough to get the work done quickly.By leaving the roots in the ground to decompose, I expect there will be some perennial weeds that I'll continue to deal with, but a good portion of the roots this tool leaves in the ground will contribute to the health of the first few inches of soil.I'm really excited about this tool and I can't wait for some more weeds to pop up in my garden!
