This is a high quality bench. It looks great, is rock solid sturdy and was easy to assemble. Yes the storage is not very deep, as other reviewers have mentioned but it is ample enough to hold several music books. It is super comfortable and adjustable and IMO totally worth the extra cost. The slightly matte black is perfect for my set up. Looks sleek and classy and does not draw attention on itself. It just looks good.

One of the knobs to raise/lower the seat is lopsided. Other than that great.

I really wanted to like this piano bench because it was really lovely and well made. However, the cushioning didn't extend enough to the edges of the seat, so the hard wooden edge was extremely uncomfortable against the backs of my legs as I was playing and I was even sore afterwards. The wrench provided for assembly didn't work so I found my own wrench and then assembly was easy. Unfortunately, the bench is being returned as my old simple keyboard bench is much softer and more comfortable although it is not as attractive.
