Wooden rollers have deeply engraved images that ensure proper embossing. Easy to use -- just make sure you slather the roller in oil, wrap it in plastic wrap, and let the oil soak in over night. Unwrap and wipe off excess just before using the oil. Properly prepared, the roller will not trap bits of dough in the more detailed areas. Also make sure you use a dough that does not rise or expand much when baked, or the embossing will be lost.

Cookies come out a little on The small size but the designs are beautiful.

The rolling pin creates the designs but the designs disappear in the baking process. This happened with gingerbread which is a firm dough. I think the rolling pin needs to be carved more deeply with the designs.

There are small cookie designs. But I made little sandwich cookies with jam in the middle. Took them to a Christmas in July party. They were a hit!! Will be using at Christmas time!!! Using a bench scraper (straight edge) to cut the designs out was very helpful.

Gave this as a gift for a new baker looking to make some extra money this season. They LOVE this. Quality material and easy to use too.

The roller is a good idea but I think I need a different sugar cookie recipe for its use. The dough kept getting stuck in the intricate design even with proper flouring. The cookies are small but adorable.

This rolling pin measures about 8" wide resulting in very small cookies. Disappointing.

Pro:awesome designCon. Will end up with a small sized cookie and needs a lot of prep and cleaning as dough can get stuck in the crevices (and there are a lot !) when it happens. The design imprint gets muddledBest to work with cool dough. If too warm. It’ll surely stick !
