This disk worked great for cleaning up head gasket material. I didn't want to use scotch brite and this was the new best thing. Did the job perfectly.

Put these to the test, after half an hour of straight use no broken bristles, which is good. The white ones are extremely gentle, in order to clean up this head surface required a razor blade to first scrape a layer of carbon off, and a scotch-brite pad to remove some of the corroded aluminum. These could not bite through thick layers of carbon and do nothing for corroded aluminum. These are great however for perfecting the surface and cleaning off thin layers of gasket material or dirt for a perfectly smooth surface. For tougher jobs, they make yellow and green versions, which would likely make the job a bit faster.

Saved me so much time cleaning any gasket surface. Great quality. Used on many cars and still have plenty of life. Works perfectly. Take your time cause it is faster than the old razor blade/scraper cleaning

If you have never tried these, they are awesome. More durable than the brillo pads I am used to... even after it starts looking worn, just keeps on doing its job. It also is much gentler on the underlying material... I used the white ones.This was the FORD recommended method for cleaning up the gasket surface of my 3.5 ecoboost timing chain cover. Cleaned and polished without gouging or abrading the aluminum.Now I look for other opportunities to use them cause they are just so cool!

Used this to help get rid of the head gasket residue leftover from my leaking 09' Subaru... Worked very well. Sprayed some goo gone on it to help.

I have been working on motorcycles for 15 years, and the day I discovered 3m roloc discs, my life got so much easier. These are the most amazing tools for prepping gasket surfaces that I have every tried, and I have tried them all. Gasket remover sprays, razor blades, gasket scrapers, brillo pads, etc - if you are a mechanic, do yourself a favor and buy these and an angle grinder, no need to thank me. The high price tag 3m imposed on these discs is well worth it, given their purpose. Longevity is also a huge plus. They look like they would wear down fast, but I can get about 6 head gasket jobs per disc. Smaller surfaces, like covers and such almost don't use it up at all. Go white for aluminum/magnesium and yellow for steel/iron. Green I wouldn't recommend for gaskets, but works fantastic to strip paint off!

These seemed pricey so I was hesitant to purchase them but went ahead based on other good reviews. They did a great job cleaning the in-vehicle engine block I was replacing the head gasket on and are more durable than expected. I'm very glad I bought them. Big time saver!

Great for cleaning up metal.. be careful not to use full speed of your tool , this is made of plastic and softens when hot.. rated for a certain speed, go by that and yu won’t be disappointed.. broke mine after 25 min of intermittent use at 24,000 rpm
