The casting quality looks great but I don’t see a way to connect this to the Rome stand that I purchased. There is no threaded hole in the bottom of this Rome sundial for their own stand to attach to it. Is someone asleep at the wheel of this company?

Honestly I bought it as decor for the fireplace. Also I got it from the used bin. And just thought it was beautiful. To use of it. I wouldn't understand. I have pocket sundial. So I understand the concept. But this is mostly just for looks at our home.

Quality of the RM2311 Brass Gothic sundial is excellent. Fine detail in the brass casting. Hasn't been outside long enough to see how it weathers. Initially was going to go with an aluminum base. Felt it was too light in weight and went with the heavier cast iron Rome B15. Will keep the base waxed as any small paint nick may rust as cast iron will rust fairly easy.

Beautiful sundial. I do recommend the Rome B15 Baluster Pedestal Sundial base to go with this. It matched perfectly in both style, weight and color

I didn't realize from the photo that the gnomon (the metal bit that sticks upwards) is almost entirely painted a green patina. The face of the dial itself looks just like it does in the photo; I'm very happy with the dial. However, the gnomon itself has very little brass showing. The edge of the gnomon is all shiny brass, but the decorative sides are mostly painted a thick green patina. You can sort of see this a little bit if you zoom in on the gnomon.I've decided to keep this item though because I really love the rest of the sundial. All in all, I am very happy with this product and am looking forward to placing it my garden, it was just a shock to take the gnomon out of the packing and realize it is mostly green. There is a bit of the green patina on the deep creases on the face of the dial, so both pieces do match. Both the dial and the gnomon are a heavy brass, which I'm very pleased with. It seems like it will do well outdoors. I don't know if anyone cares one way or the other, but the sticker on the back of the sundial says "Made in Taiwan."
