I wanted a halyard shackle for my flagpole and didn't want to break the bank. This works great for this purpose. I have not load tested it as you would if you use it on a boat so I can't rate it for that application.

The shackle worked great until after the first time out. After the shackle was subjected to pressure I could not release the shackle without using a pair of pliers.
