Product Description

Inspired by the penetrating tone of legends such as John Entwistle and Chris Squire, players worldwide have strung up their bass guitars with Swing Bass 66 strings. The distinctive sound of our roundwound Swing Bass 66 strings have been used by the bass-world’s biggest hitters such as Jaco Pastorius, Geddy Lee, Billy Sheehan, Noel Redding, Duff McKagan, and John Paul Jones. The bright red silk ends are hard to miss!

From the Manufacturer

This is the roundwound string that James How and John Entwistle perfected into what was to become the industry standard. The bright, punchy, high-energy sound of Swing Bass 66 strings is a major part of early rock music history and brought the bass player from the back line to the front of the stage.

I love these strings on my bass. The 40s may appear to be lightweight but they have great tone and you don’t lose much bottom end with these. Great for fiddly widdly stuff.

For me, nothing sounds better and lasts longer than a good set of Rotosounds. That being said, about 80% of the sets I've purchased (long scale 40-90s) have been good sets. A few sets have sounded two weeks-old out of the package. My last set sounded perfect, except for the E, which was dead, like months-old dead. I still will buy them, but the quality control is disappointing.

I am a long time Ernie Ball player. Regular Slinkys and Hybrids were my go to til recently when I tried the Extra slinkys (.040 to .095), and I am in love with them. Found this same gage in Rotosound and SIT, tried them both, and I love all 3.Rotosound has even lighter gage, and I tried a set where the G string broke before it was in tune, guess cuz its .030. I had a set on a stingray, and the G tuner is on the treble side, and didnt have any issue. If you play in line tuners, you might not like the super light G string, but if you play 2+2 or 3+1 it may work out for you.I have learned that brand does not mean as much to me as string gage. I love Slinkys (blue package) and SIT lights, several gages of Rotosounds, and now I been playing D'Addario XL (EXL220BT) super light gage, and love them just as well. These days I buy what is cheapest and available for next day, My heart belongs to many now, not just one.

Hey sports fans. I wanted to try something different, so I went with this lighter string set up (40-95). Often, I'd go with heaver strings (50-105), but this set was to be placed on my Cort A4 Bass. One of the more lighter Bass guitar I own, and I feel its a perfect match. Overall all, I'm happy with this purchase, money well spent. Have a nice day.

Rotosound is my go-to for light gauge strings. These and the Funkmaster 90s. The sound is fantastic, allows great expression and tone to come straight off your fingers, and they last at least 4 times longer than Ernie Balls.

I use Rotosound strings on all of my guitars- everything from the Standard American P-bass to an old Japanese Univox, and regardless of age or quality, they make all of them sound incredible. I use the Swing Bass 66s on my basses and British Steels on my guitars because I love a bright, punchy tone, and these strings deliver in spades. They tune quickly and stay put from the get-go, and they last forever.

The quality of these strings are second to none in the bass market. These strings make you sound like a professional bass player, no matter how good you are. I have been using Rotosound strings for 2 years now after deciding to change the ones that were stock on my P-bass. These particular strings are a medium gauge so they are a bit more trebly and it makes my P-bass sound like a jazz bass (and that might be because I switched out my stock pickups for some nice beefy ones). Another aspect of these strings is that they look damn sexy. Buy now! You're welcome amazon.

Been using Swing Bass (roundwounds) for over three decades on every bass I've ever owned. They've never let me down, they age gracefully and evenly across strings, their output and tone are consistent across strings not just when new but also as they age, I've never gotten a defective one, I've never lost a wrap on one, and I've never broken one. Sometimes I'll go off and try something different, but I always come back to these because nothing else compares. Whatever secret Rotosound has to making bass strings, I don't think the other manufacturers have figured it out yet.
