Équilibre, tonalité, définition. C'est incroyable comme le changement des cordes peut enlever un instrument.

Great sounding and feeling strings, but the tension is very tight indeed. I enjoy playing them, but I'll be going back to my old favourites next change time.

These flatwounds are a treat on my fretless bass. Slide like a dream compared to the roundwounds that came with this bass. Tension is higher - need to push harder to bend notes, but minimises buzz when tuning down a string (BEAD, as opposed to EADG). Recommended.

re: Rotosound SM77 bass strings 40-60-80-100After 2.5 weeks I took them off and threw them out because even with a pretty light gauge on a medium scale bass they were the stiffest string I've ever played.I've played bass for decades and have used many types / brands of strings. These are nice and smooth as flat strings always are with no squeaky finger noise. Tone, as expected, not as bright as roundwounds but not as muddy as some flats.I went back to GHS Pressurewounds as the best compromise between finger noise, tone and feel.

Very even volume from string to string, no loud E. Kinda brighter tone for flatwounds.Easier on the fingers. Gonna have to mess around with the trust rod. They do sound pretty good.

This is the first time I have used RotoSound flat wounds and they are amazing. I put them on a 1964 P-Bass and play through a MarkBass 2/10 combo amp. Great depth and articulation if needed.

These are solid bass strings but get LaBella special Mustang bass strings if you have a through body design. The Amazon description should say that and does not.

I've gotten so I won't use any other string on my P bass and JAZZ bass. I dont change my flatwounds often but love the mo-town sound of these strings. Still able to replicate a Jaco sound by using only the bridge pick up with treble up and bass cut. Well balanced across the fretboard with my P bass and Jazz base. I havent used them with my acfive Spector bass but will soon. My music store doesnt stock these so I rely on Amazon. Never been disappointed.

Best flats out there, in my opinion. The 100-40 gauge is nice and the strings maintain a great tone - better as they get older.

I ordered a set of these for a P-bass because I wanted the semi-dead sound of flat wounds. Unfortunately for me, they were actually brighter than the round wounds I had on there. Despite this I am really enjoying these.Bottom line: If you like flats but still want a somewhat crisp high end, these are great.Update:It has been 5 years and I still have the same original set on the bass. It doesn't get used as much as my other basses, but I do play it frequently so they have worn in. The strings are still very bright compared to other flatwounds I have played. I have grown to love the sound and I am glad they weren't dull out of the pack like I thought I wanted. When they have been too bright, I just roll down the tone and get the subby dullness. But the great thing about these strings is that I can turn the tone back up and enjoy the brightness. Couldn't do that with most other flatwounds I have tried.
