This is a nice looking cover but it was a bit bent when I received it and it rusted after the first time.

Well constructed of sturdy metal. 4 curved pieces are precisely manufactured to fit together without large gaps using 3 screws and acorn nuts per pannel. Comes with its own hex wrench and goes together in ~ 10 minutes. This spark screen is expected to last the lifetime of our fire pit. Includes a handle at the top for easy on and off and also a 2-part "fork" to easily reposition the screen when the etal is hot.

I didn't think this was going to take as much time to assemble, however, tightening it required more than expected. I think it's because it's awkward if you're doing it alone. Once it is put together however it looks great. I'm not sure if it's going to last for the entire winter because there isn't a coating on it that I can see and our harsh winters will likely rust it within a year or two. Nice looking and does the job.

I purchased this to put over our 55 gallon burn barrel which we use primarily to burn leaves and sticks. I wanted to prevent the ash. Now first off, be aware, if you intend to use the 30" one for the same purpose, you will have overhang as 55 gallon metal drums are 24" and this is 30". As the seller isn't advertising this as a perfect fit for a burn barrel, obviously it's irrevelant to the review. I just didn't want someone purchasing with the same concept in mind and feeling "mislead" because they couldn't read the item description. ANYWAY, the foldable part. I had hoped that as the screen is 4 comes in 4 pieces to assemble, and it said foldable, that you could like slide the screen over and open it 25%, 50% or 75% (like that each panel would rotate around and allow you to add more leaves or more sticks without removing the screen itself. It does NOT do this. I think what the seller meant by foldable is if you are trying to store it somewhere small, or transport it in a small space, it very quickly and easily disassembles back into the four panels to allow that.I will be keeping this screen and am excited for it to stop raining long enough for the leaves to dry out so I can give it a try.

I ordered the 36" screen for my firepit and after about a half hour of tightening 13 screws into washers it was ready to go! It was pretty easy and self explanatory how to put it together, it just took some time to get it all lined up nicely and tightened. If you have a friend to help it will be easier. The screen is black metal and feels pretty sturdy with good mesh spacing to keep the embers in check. I'm sure it will rust over time, it doesn't seem particularly weather proof and once a fire has cooked the screen it always rusts anyways.
