Max-Tuff utilizes unique, synthetic molecules that adhere tenaciously to metal surfaces to create a formidable, load-bearing physical barrier between surfaces. This minimizes the possibility of boundary conditions (metal-to-metal contact) while providing excellent protection to both ferrous and nonferrous metals against rust and corrosion.

Royal purple is great Lubricant, I'm using it to prelube differential bearing for preload and so your rear-end and frontend bearings are prelubed. Great product

Built a small diesel engine with this assembly oil and found it very nice to use and like it much better than the grease base assembly lubes. Really seems to hang on bearings and such and yet once the oild starts flowing it can wash away the assy lube. I will use in the future

This new/rebuild engine assembly lubricant is specially designed to be used with Royal Purple Break-in oil during your initial engine break-in period. The Assembly Lub is fully compatible with the R.P. break-in oil so it dissolves and blends with the R.P. leaving no clumps or high viscosity moving mass to interfere with initial preventative protection. And, it will reduce the possibility of clogging your valve train components during the first startup of the engine.

I assembled a zetec engine for a focus SVT and used max tough. I had an issue with my oil pump and actually started the car three times and couldn't gain oil pressure. I expected the rod bearings to be ruined but when I inspected them they look almost new. They barely look like the crank has been rotated let alone started. I cannot recommend this enough and I'll be telling everyone to use this.

update - I like it a lot for the rails, will continue to use it. A little goes a long way in this application! two thumbs up!Got this today - arrived on time as usual with amazon. Never used this product so I was happy and excited to receive it. Has the classic royal purple smell so I know it’s the real deal. My initial thoughts where surprise on it’s viscosity. I thought it would be a little thicker and tackier, but I was pleasantly surprised. Put a drop on my finger and smeared it around between two fingers tips and it basically coated everywhere I touched with a thin layer of notable lubricant. Some tack to it but clearly a lubricant. Slid nicely. I bought this actually to use as firearm rail lube, but I will use it for other mechanical assemblies as well.I applied a drop of this to each side of the disassembled pistol rail and put it back. No clatter, nice slide action, pretty impressed. I’ll give further updates in the future.

Excellent product. Used this and Royal Purple High ZDDP engine oil on my Subaru rebuilt and I could not be happier. I have also used Royal Purple Gear Oil with great success. The assembly lube is just the right consistency to protect but not obstruct the flow of oil from the oil pump. Excellent Product!

Like others say, this is got some benefits of both oil and grease. It is slicker than grease, but doesn't get thrown. On top of using it to get things back together in my engine bay, I use it as my cutting oil for drilling. Why? It sticks, so when drilling underneath a car chassis it will stick to the bit and not fly off. Is it the best for cutting? No (pipe threading oil does wonders for that), but considering you can use it at any angle it's a godsend.Besides the cutting works well for all your usual assembly needs where tolerances are tight and things don't want to slip together readily.

This works great building new engines. It is very slippery, but yet sticky so it doesn't come off new parts easy. It leaves a tough film that does well to protect internals during a new engine start up. I would not use anything else. A little bit of this stuff goes a long way.
