It appears to be functioning well. We tested a few bills with this and it scanned them and confirmed them authentic. We then spent the money and the bills were accepted. I'll post an update if it ever finds a fake bill, but so far all have been authentic. Good luck in your search.

I am not expert at counterfeit money nor do I know I know any of the ways in which a person may "fake" a bill. This device is designed to reveal markings on money.I actually don't get a lot of cash in my hands these days but when someone hands me a large bill, I always wonder if it is real or not. This is a simple device with two UV LEDs connected to a USB power source. The tray fits any standard US bill and allows the security devices to be easily seen. The device seems well made and is very light weight. Good quality switch on top. The charging port on the back is a USB Micro port. It comes with a standard USB cable and a USB Type A charging block. This allows almost any standard USB charger to be used. The cable for this this could be a little longer in my opinion.Seems to be priced well compared to other like units.

This is a nice little compact UV light that shines on US dollars to bring out the inner watermarks. It's entirely made of plastic and requires a USB hookup. You place a bill underneath, and you can really see the inner prints stand out (that you can't really see with a naked eye). Gives you a good hint whether the bill is counterfeit or not. It would be very difficult to recreate the watermarks in a real bill.
