This was recommended to me by another artist and it is definitely worth the price. Once it dries it stays where it is. Very solid pigment but also easy to dilute with water to make grey tones. Its a little hard to clean up because it’s so pigmented.

Jag trodde jag köpte en flaska med svart tusch, men de skickade en med vitt istället, och svarar inte när jag beklagar mig. Amazon ingriper inte heller. Riktigt ruttet. Vad är detta för skitföretag?

I do a lot of pen and ink wash illustrations that end up reproduced on ceramics, and I’ve typically either used Jackson’s brand Indian ink, Noodlers or Martin’s Bombay black with brushes and dip pens, and then I use Rotring tech pen ink in my isographs as well as refilling pentel brush pens with it.This Talens ink is way darker than any of those, much more pigmented and requires a lot more dilution to create similar values in washes. Some Indian inks dilute to a warm grey or even slightly brownish hue when diluted, and I find my noodlers black ink does the opposite and gives a bluish hue in washes — this Talens ink is a neutral grey, which is useful for me.It does have the same tendency as Indian inks to get a bit reflective under direct light on ares you’ve applied thickly with a brush — this can be a pain if you’re intending to reproduce images via scanning, as often what you intended to be the very darkest reflect the scanner’s beam so much that they throw the whole value off. You can beat this with a coat of watered down matte medium — but this makes your original look like a print, if that matters — as it flattens things out and you have to apply it all over. It’s thick, but smooth, and so far hasn’t blocked a .25 tech pen that I have decided to risk as an experiment with this ink!

Perfecta.

This ink holds up well over time and is an excellent tattoo ink used by many of todays popular artists. Great for lining and tribal.

I am a line art artist (comics) and have tried MANY different types of inks. But this one is by far the darkest, beautiful and smoothest . I realize that this item is mainly for tattoos, but believe me, it is a gorgeous ink for paper artists, too.
