Pay close attention to the installation instructions and take your time and these will work out just fine for you. They are super functional. I disconnected my door retaining strap and GENTLY tested them by allowing the door to travel completely open. They are perfectly located and deliver exactly what they promise - protection from a hood "ding" from your door mirror. I've driven on the highway, in the rain and taken them through a car wash. They are still solidly attached and haven't given me any trouble at all.

These look great on the Jeep. An if your like me & in a hurry & forget the door straps, the protect from the mirror crashing into the hood!! Very easy to install, only recommendation is heat the double sided tape with a blow dryer to make sure it has a strong bond.

Like every JKU owner, I also experienced a door removal process that resulted in a fast wind gust swinging the door completely open and BAM! the rearview mirror put a nice dent in the cowl. However, I found these beauties to fill the need for both cosmetically counteracting the dent, and actually providing sturdy support against future slams. They look nice, the adhesive works well and they cover old dents. Shame on Jeep for not coming up with a better cowl design (read: ability to remove and replace without soldering), but until then, great job Rugged Ridge. Also, these were less expensive than Quadratec, which sealed the deal.

I give three stars because it is priced too high. It does fit and work properly as advertised (if you follow the directions), but for what is received, it is way over priced.

Easy to install and they look good. Put these on my 2011 JK, when they arrived. Clean the area with alcohol peel the plastic off the tape and press down , they only go on one way. If your worried about it staying on long term they will I usually add a little glue on the tape not necessary but I find it adheres tighter.

Well, they look great when placing them in place but they use adhesive strips to hold them in place. The directions state that for proper adhesion the temperature needs to be at least 65 deg F. Even though I am in Texas it has not been 65 deg since I received them. I am looking forward to this weekend when the temperature is supposed to get up to at least 62 deg. Sitting in the sun will probably warm the metal up beyond 65 deg and so that will be the day to install them.Installed them using the supplied directions by cleaning the areas of contact with alcohol. I can report that the adhesive strips are industrial strength. Make sure that they are positioned perfectly before you let them touch the vehicle. Because the KC light bracket made it a little hard to position it I allowed the first one to touch the vehicle not correctly aligned. I was not sure that I was going to get it off. But both are positioned correctly and they look great.

Bought for JK and item did not fit snug/flat on body, plus edges weren't flushed. Had to pay my own shipping for return, plus they charge a 20% restocking fee... Ended up losing like $20 :/

These were good quality and went on great. I was worried about getting them straight, but following the instructions to the letter I was good to go. Highly recommend them along with other body armour. It is too easy to scratch and bang without them.

These give the outside edges of your cowl protection from road debris and look pretty good as well. Made out of thick plastic and they attach with the 2 sided tape. I would recommend these but you may want to see if you can wait until they are on sale as they are a little pricy for no more than what they are. That's the only reason they don't get a 5 star from me.Update: 12/12/12 these are still holding up great and have saved my door mirrors from damaging my cowl several times now. At the price Amazon has them listed at as of now I would definitely advise picking a set up if you like the look. These would also make an excellent Christmas gift for that Jeeper on your list!
