It took very little effort to cut out supports for my 3d models. The sharp cutting edge meant less force to clip things. I’m very happy.Update: about a month into using these to trim supports from pla models I had the tip break off on one side. While the were not broken, I could do very precise removals. Now they’re junk. Won’t buy again!

This review is for RUITOOL Model Nippers Visit the RUITOOL Store, $15 on amazon. The cutting end of the nipper/cutter has a very sharp, razor like, blade that presses up against a flat-like surface. It comes with the ‘limit lock’ pre-adjusted so force of the blade against the flat surface is minimized (see the Amazon page write-up as to what the ‘limit lock’ is and where it is located). Should the limit lock need adjustment the idea method is to hold the cutter with a bright light behind it and adjust the ‘limit lock’ nut until the light between the blade and flat surface disappears. It arrives with a soft plastic cover over the working end of the cutter which protects the blade and keeps the cutter closed. The integral spring keeps the cutter open until squeeze to the handles is applied. Squeeze force is reasonable.

These nippers are a step up from your standard ultra cheap nippers that come for free with some purchases. There is definitely some attention to detail put into these. I wouldn't consider them a premium tool, but its definitely a step up from the bottom of the barrel and I suspect that these will be able to take more of a beating than my old cheap ones. The first thing I noticed about these is that they were a little bit smaller than I expected. Personally, I don't like this. Maybe its better for certain applications but I've never found myself wishing my nippers were smaller. That being said, they are only marginally smaller than the standard cheap nippers and it probably won't get in your way too much if you use these for models or cutting small wires.Overall, these are a good tool. They are certainly more robust than my old nippers and they feel very sturdy. Its nice that they come with a safety cap too. Everything is well made and the jaws line up well. Just keep in mind, they are quite small so if you think this could be an issues for you, maybe consider some different ones. I could see these being really good for building models as advertised. I mostly use them for soldering projects and cleaning up 3D prints which they work quite well for.

I'm very impressed with cutting performance of these nippers.Don't be fooled by the "perfect for kids or beginners" in the product description. These nippers are professional grade with perfect flats cut on plastic runners.I did a comparison with my older pair of nippers and I didn't realize how much pinching they were doing to the plastic compared to this set. These are also singled bladed which is commonly know to have cleaner cuts versus the double blade nippers.I've used this set to cut pieces off runners on a Gundam MG and there's definitely much less trimming I have to do with my x-acto knife afterwards. My only slight complaint is I wish these were slightly larger for ergonomics purposes but highly recommended nonetheless.

These nips are a good value. They are sharp and cut cleanly in plastic. It’s not evident from the product description but this is a single sided cutting design where one blade is sharp and the other side is a flat surface. It has an adjustable stop to keep from grinding the edge too hard into the flat face and it works well. Some of the ground edges on the power head are sharp and have accidental grinder marks but nothing that impacted performance and for the price I’m not upset about the finishing. The handles are comfortable and grippy as well. It comes with a rubber blade cover that comes in handy for putting these cutters in a bag or pocket without damaging the fabric.

"Limiting lever" and "limiting lock" are made to sound like great features... but they are merely hacks for a tool that is a bit cheaply made. A good pair of cutters will have those two features built-in the metal body of the cutters so as not to have bits sticking out and getting in the way and snagging stuff.... it does the job but not a great design.

For tiny, anvil-style nippers, I don't know that there are any better at this price. I use these for electrical work mostly, when I need to make a tiny cut in wiring insulation or remove some wayward plastic nubbin on something, or anytime I need to make a truly tiny, delicate cut in soft materials around the house. I had no need for top-quality, precision cutters of this type, and these fit the bill for me perfectly.

I’m using these to cut sprue and printing filament. First of all this pair of cutters is small, about 1cm shorter than my other cutters. The cutting tip is a bit different than a standard pair of nippers—it has one sharp edge and one flat edge. The blades are quite thin and the manufacturer has warnings to not cut pieces thicker than 3mm or metal items.Initially, I had to adjust the small screw below the head as it wasn’t allowing the tip to close fully. Once I made the adjustment, it worked well. The actual nippers aren’t as well machined as shown in the photos, but they’re better than others I have owned.
