It did what it needed to I'm hoping to get one more build out of it. For the price you can not go wrong. go find out what it would cost to have a shop do it for you.

Works well for filing the rings. Just takes time, little bits of material off at a time and seems to be consistent.

We must have received a defective one, because what I received is not usable. The center is not stable and wobbles so much it would be dangerous/ineffective. Only reason I gave it two stars instead of one is because it arrived with all the parts and was well packaged. I do not recommend this product.

Worked great. A good tip is to only grind one side and check the side you're grinding for parallelism (close the gap and hold it up to the light) make adjustments as necessary. Took my 4.030 rings from a .014" gap to .026" rigging up the drill help a lot

Before you have at your new rings practice on the old ones you are replacing. Measure the ring gap, write it down, file them down using a set number of turns, and then measure the ring again. You should quickly get a feel for how many turns it takes to increase the ring gap to what you want. Usually it takes very little and, like cutting lumber, you can't decrease the gap if you take too much off.The ring gap file is easy to use. I've always just used a hand file but this tool makes sure that the filing action is not at an angle. You still need to check the ends (and clean up if needed) for a bur. The wheel is a bit course which means it'll remove a lot of material quickly (which is why practicing on worn out rings first is wise). I would like to see an easy way to clamp it in a vise. I ended up bending the metal tab as I will never use it enough to mount it to a bench.

It works BUT you will need to chamfer the edges of the ring after filing the ring to fit. This ring file leaves the end of the rings with an edge that locks the ring in the ring grove in the piston if it is not cleaned off. The grit is to course which is a problem.
