The display is virtually too dim to read. Even when attached to 120 vac, the display needs to be read with bright light and viewed from just the right angle.

Installed the hour meter on my boat to keep track of hours for maintenance. Connected Power source is 12.5 vdc power on with ignition switch. Mounted in a sealed area with only the face exposed. Don't waste your money as this is JUNK.

I bought this hour meter for my JD314 hydrostatic tractor. Fits perfectly in empty 2in spot on dashboard. Digits are very small but readable. Reset function is nice. Tested for accuracy and seams to be very good. Time will show if will last.

This logs hours of use but in 1/10th increments. After installing this gauge and testing it, it dawned on me that 1/10 of an hour is six minutes. I was wanting to monitor the run time on a newly installed sailboat bilge pump. The pump will have to cycle many times to log the first six minutes. Long term, I suppose this will still be useful but I was hoping for more immediate feedback.

The main drawback is no display when not in use. But you can install a push bottom by pass switch so you can see the number. It is useful when you try measure heating system on time. I do not install reset bottom on protect box but leave connect wire inside in box, when I need reset , I still can do it. (not everyone see it.)The number is too small to read.

Fits 2" round hole although the description says to use a rectangle cutout as shown. I did not need to make any modification at all to install where I had a previous timer. There is a "C" connection on the back in addition to the "+" and "-". The "C" connection can be grounded for a second to reset the hours.Reliability and waterproof are yet to be determined as I have only had it in service a few days.
