I didn't use these on a boat. I was needing a quick easy way to remove a cover panel sheet of plexiglass. These worked awesome. You can see the mounts and locks, but they look good enough that it doesn't matter. Provides a professional appearance without much effort.

I used these windshield fasteners to replace wood screws and trim washers on a clear Lexan cover on a storage box. To access the inside of the box, I previously needed to use a Phillips screwdriver to remove and re-install the screws - a very painstaking process. And constant removal/install of the screws wore the holes out on the box.These female clips were easy to permanently install with stainless flat-head screws. The male quarter-turn connectors now make removal and install of the Lexan cover very quick and easy.I'm anxious to replace similar screws/trim washers on our boat windshield too, to make periodic removal and cleaning of the boat dash much easier.
