About this item

  • The Russian Pomegranate tree lives up to its name with its edible fruit, showy flowers, and low amount of overall maintenance. This Fruit tree is a joy to grow in any warm outdoor landscape.
  • Delicious fruit- this Fruit bearing plant is known for producing large and fresh pomegranates from a relatively young age. These rich Red fruit trees ripen in mid to late September. Similar to fig trees.
  • Self-pollinating- the Russian Pomegranate tree has the added benefit of being completely self fertile after planting, doing away with the need for a second or third pollinating live tree to produce fruit. Not suitable as a house plant, but would be a great addition to an outdoor garden.
  • Vibrant flowers; The flowers of the Russian Pomegranate tree appear before producing fruit and seeds which make this specimen into an attractive Ornamental centerpiece. These flowers usually come into bloom in mid to early spring. This prime fruit will be an exotic addition to your outdoor garden.
  • Nutritious- Russian pomegranates are an incredible Super food and are rich in beneficial nutrients such as antioxidants and vitamin C. With the Wonderful Pomegranate tree you can grow this super food right in your back yard. Similar to the superfood blueberry and cherry plants, these edible fruits are full of anti-oxidants and vitamins.

The Russian pomegranate cultivar is just what it says it is a delicious cold hardy fruit. The Russian pomegranate variety features colorful, orange-red flowers and dense, bushy growth habit that make pomegranate an attractive ornamental in any landscape. The pomegranate is more commonly grown as a bushy shrub, but can be trained as a small tree. The leaves are deciduous, usually glossy and dark green. The fruit is rich in antioxidants and may be yellow to bright red in color and up to about 4 inches in diameter. The rind is smooth and leathery with a persistent, tubular sepal at the flower’s end. The many seeds are surrounded by a pink to purplish or crimson pulp. It is considerably more cold hardy than citrus; some can tolerate temperatures as low as 10 degrees. For best results, pomegranate should be grown in full sun. Ordered and received in December. Plant was dormant so it looked like it was a bunch of thin stems with no leaves. I was afraid it was dead but I continued to care for it, watering lightly once a week. End of February, the leaves started sprouting!! I can’t wait to bring it outdoors!

Arrived looking rough and very dry. Had hopes it could be saved and brought back but it died a few days later. Disappointed since they are a very hardy variety and are easy to take care of. I've grown several of these before at different places we've lived and they grew amazing. Not sure if it was the way it was packaged or if it was the shipping company that caused it to look so rough by mishandling it

Arrived in a couple of days. Securely packaged, good sized box so it wasn't smooshed. Plant is healthy and beautiful. Larger than anticipated. Have recommended to others.UPDATE: It's almost been a year. It's living in a pot, and I brought it in over winter. Lost every leaf it had over a few days and I panicked, not realizing they're deciduous! It's all leafed out now, on the porch, will be going in the ground soon. It doubled in size last year and it is beautiful! I am considering getting one more.

Have ordered this cold hardy variety from a couple of different places. I usually season them for a year in a somewhat sheltered places for a year before planting in its permanent home. This plant arrived in a nice pot with a good root system. This plant was superior in its root’s establishment and size compared to others I have ordered. Was a little cheaper for the size too.

This is plant is healthy and in fantastic condition. One of the best plants I have ever ordered online. Will buy from them again! It's not like other growers, who send their plants out barely alive and ill-packaged
