I really like my old impact driver. The new ones have too much torque and strip screws like crazy. This switch allowed me to revive my good old driver. I'm not great at soldering, but I was able to make this work. Very happy with this part.

I have a blue ryobi drill that had a wire melt on it, after some slight modification to the drill and the trigger it fits and works perfectly again.I imagine if you were installing this on one of the intended drills installation would be very simple other the needing to do 2 solders. If, like me you are installing this on an old blue ryobi then this trigger is slightly too big, so you will have to shave down the top of the trigger and part of the drill to make it fit - but the effort far outweighs having to throw away a perfectly good tool.

Bought this Ryobi OEM trigger for $17 to replace the failing one in my Ryobi drill. It will need to be soldered in at the motor connectors, no big deal. I expected that much from the pictures of the product. However, the already attacherd connector for the battery contacts had the red wire soldering point stick out too far, so it wouldn't slide into the special plastic guides on the drill housing. Therefore it prevented the drill from being reassembled. Not a really big deal to fix it, just had to unsolder and then reattach it correctly. What irks me is the price for an advertised direct replacement original Ryobi OEM product, that had apparently NO quality control and needed to be corrected by the customer. (yeah, yeah, I could have mailed it back and get a replacement ... but why more running around and hassel) Aftermarket switches can be had for half to 1/3 of the Ryobi price. Then at least I may have expected possible mods here and there.Come on, Ryobi, I generally like your products and have a whole army of them and an army of Ryobi 18V batteries to boot. But a little quality control for your own replacement parts might be nice.

great assembly switch only part that was an issue was that it didnt have the wire that runs to the light that turns on when using the switch. overall it worked perfect.

This worked great for a build of an small 18 vdc conversion on chinese kids ATV. Originally it was a 6 vdc system and had a simple on/off foot switch. Took a little fab work but now the rider can choose how fast or slow to go by pressing more or less on the foot pedal.
