I love this saw, I used to cut up pallets with a reciprocating saw which got the job done. Enter this plunge saw and it makes cutting them a breeze and pretty much effortless.

Unfortunately the lack of any way to control the depth of the cut and the need to put great pressure on the saw makes it impossible to use for any light weight material !!! Fortunately I also purchased another brand of saw that did the job perfectly!!!!!

I bought this directly from Home Depot; there was a sale, buy a two-battery set and get a free tool. I ended up paying around $100 for the batteries and the saw. Amazing deal! So far, I am impressed; they put much thought into this tool. I have used it on tile and wood so far. The depth is easy to adjust, and the guide was a great addition for straight cuts. It feels solid, and like my other Ryobi tools, I expect it to last many years. This is the coolest tool I have bought in a long time.

I really like this saw because it's so light weight and easy to use. Some people complain that you can't set the depth, but I easily put a nylon strap through the thin holes in the front of the bottom plate, wrapped it around the handle and tied it with the blade exposed at just over 3/4". I can make hand-held cuts easily without having to press down at all. (Of course, that's ok only for me; you're not allowed to do it, right??) I don't bother to change it for 1/4" ply and it still works great!Update 1-4-24: It's becoming my favorite saw. It's so light I just go to grab it every time!
