Don't buy it! The plastic lever that controls power is cheaply made, breaks easily, and a replacement is impossible to get because none of the parts suppliers can get it from Ryobi. A good light duty tiller made useless because of cheap manufacturing of a critical part. Ugh!

This refurbished version doesn’t appear to have the same power as the original one I had.In either case, the biggest issue with this is that many parts are made of a cheap plastic that breaks easily. Replacing parts can be a problem of its own. While Ryobi had a .68 price on the switch inside the handle, they were out. Other shops claiming to have the part wanted $8 for the same .68 part. Perhaps, they are buying the parts in large enough quantities that Ryobi hasn’t any in stock and then gouges anyone who needs the part to repair their cultivator.

I bought this cultivator new from Home Depot less than a year ago. It works great. Plenty of power. The problem is the lever to actuate the trigger is very cheaply made and it broke. I have been waiting for a replacement part for about three months. Ryobi does not have it or any other place I have checked. Ryobi does not care enough about its customers to have parts. Before you buy go to a parts web site and check and see if you can buy parts. There are many parts you cannot buy for a Ryobi. A lot of place do not even have photos of the parts. Do your diligent research.

This seems to work well and it is fairly easy to till to a 4--6 inch depth, although you'll have to go over it a few times to reach that depth. When it strikes a rock it jumps up. It could be heavier, that would help. I am giving it -1 star because it is Made In China and they ought to disclose that before you purchase it, that way we aren't all throwing money at a government that is hostile to Democracy. If China would democratize then I'd be happy to buy their products. But I decided I wanted electric and kind of gave up on finding something not made in China. I saw the Ryobi and was hoping it was made in Japan. I bought this as "renewed" it seems to be brand new. I am happy with my purchase as this will tide me over until I decide on a more serious tiller, and this will work in tight spots where a more serious tiller won't.
