I loved the sound these wires produced. I didn’t overtighten them but one of the wires broke in the center causing it to cut through my resonant head. The head was new as well so now I’m spending more money in the long run to replace the damage these wires caused.

I put this on Ludwig Black Magic. Original 20 strand wires are good enough, but this is BETTER; bright & crisp. The difference is just like Zildjian S or ZBT series (dull) and K series cymbals (sensitive). It is expensive, but worth the money.As other review says, this is NOT for FAT sound. Brass wires are for sensitive sound. (FAT sound, you want to mute wire vibe.)

I got exactly what I expected. Looks very nice and sophisticated and design nicely for cord attachment. But the sound is not easily crisp. Perhaps I do not know how to tune a drum correctly for it. I put one on each of two performance drums and like the sound of these snares far better than the basic snare that came with the drums (nice Pearl drum, two different styles). I'd say in the least that the design is inspiring for considering sound of snares for performances.

Amazing for a 6.5x14 maple snare drum. Big difference between this one (for the better) and a 30-strand. Very sensitive and adds a more quality tone. Expensive but well worth it!

If I could give it 6 stars I would! SABIAN has made an awsome job with this product! I installed it on a Ludwig 6.5x14" Black Beauty snare and it made a great snare into an UNBELIEVABLE snare. Very sensitive, playing ghost notes now is a real joy, you hear even a whisper on the head! It works great in all tuning ranges, either cracked all the way up or very loose! I am very happy with this product!
