First of all these are not a super soft rubber or foam material - they a firm rubber. My point is you can still end up getting some knots and bruises but not to the extent of wood or metal chucks. It's not a bad thing but if you're looking for a completely beginner pair these could be a little too hard.That being said these are great quality for the price.

I bought these lovelies in hopes that I wouldn't give my family the fear of me clobbering the crap out of myself. Well, they are hard as a rock and I'm pretty sure they can beat the daylights out of just about anyone too! Hurt pretty pretty bad when I hit myself.Did that bother me though? Not at all! They're really cool to look at and use, and are of excellent quality. The weight of the nunchaku also gives your arms quite the workout. Besides, nothing makes you feel more alive than the prospect of splitting your skull in half! A good motivator to actually get it right, and fast. They smell really bad though, and your hands will smell like a tire for a long time... even after using soap!

Had bought a previous pair of trainer chucks but they wouldn't stand up to the blows when hitting heavy bag. These definitely will but they are very heavy and you could seriously injure yourself or do damage to property. With that said I've had them for almost a year now and they have not broken. The chain was a little long which is actually a good thing if you have bigger hands better to be able to cut it down than to have to add a chain link fairly simple to shorten chain just pop the pin out with a center punch. Would definitely buy again

as someone who is trying to pick up a physically beneficial skill/hobby, i first ordered this to find it does not come as a pair. second, this product is good quality but its way too heavy. you'll definitely get hurt when learning to use this due to the weight.

It can hit, but it can also fold a bit. I love it. It really gives ninja vibes.Its not so much great quality the way the chains meet the black sticks; but it stayed in one piece so it do it's job.

Stylish, no slip soft foam with metal chain, well made. The soft foam is great for learning how to use them. The metal chain swivels nicely at each "chuck" head. I damaged the foam (small split) by smacking a low ceiling joist, so be careful around anything hard with an edge.And, you get two!

The nunchucks arrived on time however they were black (not yellow as per the description) and most of the reviews said there were 2 pairs (which I hoped to use for my 2 boys) but I got only one pair. The quality is good although I would say they are pretty heavy and a little smelly.
