Tried many other ways to get our cedar fence gate to close. This was the best! Easy to install. I ordered the adjustable version and got the non adjustable version and thought I’d give out a try. Worked like a champ!

Ordered these for a customer job I did a cable railing for. I searched for something clean and with somewhat of a modern look. I picked these because I like my tolerances tight as I can get them.But I fell for the " let's listen to others that can't use a tape measure.. the gap you will need for these hinges is a minimum of 13/16", not 1/2" like the another review states... I gave three stars for couple reasons..1.Because they are plastic and likely won't last long if used a lot.2. Requires a fairly large gap ( Min. 13/16" )

These hinges are described on Amazon as adjustable tension hinges. And it says so on each plastic bag a pair comes in. They are not adjustable. On the manufacturer's website (Safetech) they are described as 'fixed'. That is accurate. Also, they do not come with screws, and you will need two types for each hinge: four where the screw wants to fit in a recess, and four where the head of the screw must rest on the surface of the inside legs. I got lucky: the fixed tension closes a 40 lb. gate just about right. A lighter gate will slam shut; much heavier and I doubt the gate will self-close at all.

Great material, will not rust, you supply the attachment hardware and at least 1/2” of usable gap is required, a little more is better. In my case that is exactly what was needed.

I have two of these on an aluminum gate. They are not strong enough to close the gate if the grass gets a little long. I had to add another spring to close the gate. They feel sturdy, but don't have enough closing power.

Nice quality. Set of 2 hinges per package. Tension not adjustable, but I found it to be about right for my application.

This is not an "adjustable" spring hinge as advertised and shown in the video. The still photos are correct.
