I did not test this for salinity. I needed a meter for my very armature hydroponics (tough love sort of thing). It does what I need it to do though not as easily as I had hoped.If you have live animals depending on this you may want to invest in something proven for that purpose. You will need to learn to calibrate these types of meters as well. I got this for something more forgiving.

Worked for pH but not salinity. I'm testing a fish tank and needed both readings. The salinity readings were lower than other devices making things more confusing....

Bought this as a replacement for a broken refractometer. Used it and slowly began killing my corals. Salinity reading is 9 ppt low so what i thought was normal 35ppt saltwater as this meter showed was actually 44ppt (refractometer measured) horribly inaccurate and says it is factory calibrated for salinity. BEWARE!

Calibrating the pH was super easy and very accurate. Salt reads in both PPT and PPM selections and also works accurately.

This was very easy to get working and use. For years i have used manual hydrometers and never had much luck with the digital ones, until now. I did compare its readings alongside a manual hydrometer, and it was spot on. It has a very nice look to it and does not appear to be made out of cheap plastic. I have dropped it a couple times and it still continues to function as it should. I think i might finally have a reason to throw away my manual hydrometers away, once and for all. I will update if any issues do arise from this one, but none so far. It is really nice.

This is my third PH tester. I had tried the cheaper ones, and they are cheap for a reason. This one is accurate and for me it's the first one, that is. The others just didn't calibrate. I was able to calibrate this with ease and have been using it for a few weeks now. It's simple and easy to use. It's well made and does'nt have other features which I don't need. I'm need this for testing PH in my aquarium. It's been on point since I started using it.
