I've used this anchor a handful of times with a 23' bay boat, and it's worked great each time. It's constructed well, quite heavy, and easy to use. At the risk of pointing out the obvious, take care not to pinch yourself in the area where the handle slides against the base (even when just handling or putting away)... ask me how I know ;) It's easy to hammer fully into the sand, and retrieving is just as easy, yet it holds very strong (since the rode is pulling right at the base/ground). I like that it stores aways easier than a conventional anchor. It's a great solution for a bow anchor at the sandbar (and frees your regular anchor for the stern, where needed).

This past weekend, we went to the lake and wanted to go to the shore to play in the water. Our boat didn’t even move thanks to this product!

Easy to use with slide hammer - it has excellent hold power at the beach, I was really surprised. Buy a 100 ft roll of rope and you are set. This along with a front anchor and you can safely have your boat in deeper water. Good product

You get what you pay for with these. They are heavy weight, do the job, and easy to place into the sand. Highly recommend.

Works well but went right through the included bag the first time it was picked up. Be sure to store so it won't go through your hull.

Good product. Easy to use to anchor in shallow water and easy to remove when you’re ready to take off. Fits in its own carry case and tucks away nicely due to it overall size. I use it with two bungee cords I bought separately and my boat stays secure and is able to take waves without pulling the stake out of the mud. I use a normal anchor on the front of the boat and with this combination it works great.

Using this on a sandy beach in tandem with a stern or bow anchor is easy enough. The item worked well when used in this way. I tried it on a less-than-all-sand beach and bent the tip trying to move it down through some rocks. The tip was easily straightened, though, and should be useable again. I will just need to look for other solutions for rockier terrain. The only beef I had with the item is the rough nature of the metal. While I didn't expect it to look like a surgical instrument, all bright and shiny, I did expect it to have a bit smoother surface than it did. At the end of the day, though, I guess it isn't that big of a deal when it is buried in the ground while in use. The storage bag it came with is definitely not going to hold up very long, so I plan to have my canvas guy make a storage bag for it. I would recommend this to people that are looking for the utility and functionality it provides but are not overly concerned with the fit and finish aspects of the product.
