Beautiful wood with smooth holes. This will help you keep your colors organized.

Are there ever enough thread sorters? I am impressed with the quality of this wooden thread sorter. It works well and so much better than paper or plastic ones that I also use. The size of the holes will allow me to put 2-3 skeins in each segment. The only issue I have is that I would not want to label this one. But if you are using a specific color project this would suit the needs very well. I would hesitate to use it without creating a key to keep in your project bag if you are using it for an ombre need.

I'm not sure the best word to describe Savina fiber arts tools, but I'm going with "charming." They have a warm finish to them that gives them a simple beauty. This thread organizer is no different. The holes are smooth so the thread doesn't snag, too.

This floss holder is made of a lovely and well-polished wood and features engraved numbered holes (1-20) and a leather loop to hang it from.A nice and simple tool, though well made, unfortunately, the one I received had off-set engraving. Everything seems in perfect position at the start of the piece (on the left-hand side), but it drifts upwards as it moves along to the right side. While this doesn't affect the performance of the tool, it did make me a little sad as everything else about it is so well crafted.

I've been using cardstock paper floss organizers, some from kits, some made by me, and it's always been a race to finish the project before the organizer rips or shreds or frays badly. Not with this wooden organizer! The wood is finely grained and the surfaces are smoothly sanded and finished, including the 20 holes. The outer edges are rounded, the holes are cut at right angles to the flat sides. No splinters or rough spots. The holes are about 5/8 inch/16 mm across, and the organizer is 0.25 inch/6 mm thick. The holes are labeled 1 through 20 in black outline numerals, easy for my elderly eyes to read and more elegant than black block numbers. The numbers are on one flat side, the other flat side is blank. There's a 21st hole at the end, smaller than the floss holes and it comes with a thin leather string so you can hang the whole thing on a hook if you want to.The wood feels substantial, not super light weight and not at all flimsy. The holes have enough surface friction to keep floss securely looped in place. I tend to keep very short bits of floss until I'm done with a project, in case I run one or two stitches short of a color. This organizer is too thick to loop those tiny bits, but I can loosely knot a very short strand and it stays put. I've only needed those scraps a few times in more than half a century of needlework, so it's an overanxious quirk of mine and I didn't take off any stars for it. I mention it in case their are fellow overanxious needleworkers out there considering this purchase. In sum, I'm delighted with this organizer. I'm already using it for my current cross stitch project, and expect to get many years more use from it.

I love this! I have had other thread organizers over the years. When I was much younger, I would just take a piece of cardboard and cut slits in it to organize the different yarns for needlepoint projects. Later on, I learned to do cross stick and got some plastic thread organizers but they are also a bit of a pain. For example, the butterfly shapes make it hard to put the project away because it is difficult to wrap the as-yet-unused thread lengths around the butterfly. This flow or thread organizer is made of wood and is very pretty. I know they show the thread organizer hung up so the threads hang down. Maybe some people do that but I haven’t seen it before. The wood is smooth and because of the rectangle design and the thickness of the wood, it will be easy to wrap the unused thread around the organizer. The edges are rounded so the threads that are wrapped around it will not get wrinkles or folds in them.I have a particular large project I will be using this on for next Christmas. I have all the thread, patterns and Aida cloth, (cross stich fabric), but did not have a thread organizer until now. I sort of want to show the organized thread on this, but don’t want to get everything out until after the holidays.Anyway, if you do handwork and could use a thread organizer, this is the nicest one I have ever seen and it is a great price. I have already purchased a second one for me and one for a friend.

I really like this Savina Embroidery 20-Hole Floss Organizer (ASIN B0DJFGZ56V). The grain of the wood is lovely and well polished. The numbers appear to be laser carved into the wood, but are shallow so you can barely feel them. Due to the nature of wood, there are some imperfections in some of the holes. Most of the holes are completely smooth to the touch, and floss glides through them easily. But three holes have significant rough spots. The position of the roughness on two holes shouldn’t affect using them, if I’m careful. The third hole has roughness in two areas, where it could snag, so I feel that hole is currently unusable. It’s a quirk of the wood grain, and overall I think the workmanship is excellent. This is a nice tool which adds a little elegance to crafty time.
