The Stiletto Custom builds on the concept of the Stiletto Studio, and adds just little more flash with a natural or vampyr red satin maple top and gold or black hardware, which guarantees that you will not go unnoticed on stage. It comes loaded with EMG pickups, which deliver with precision and strength the rich tone of the instrument’s mahogany body. Available with 4, 5 and 6-string configurations.

The finish on this is beautiful. It sounds great especially considering the cost and will prove to be very versatile. The neck joint is pretty decently fit and seems solid. The hardware is really the only poor part of the design, particularly the gold paint finish. They're ok at best really. I can tell they won't take long to start flaking. Functionality they work well enough so they aren't complete trash. Lastly, and this is no fault of the instruments inate quality, but the set up was comically bad and I'm not some picky professional. Seriously the strings were like 3/4" off the frets and there was a serious up-bow. Easy enough fix. So, poop hardware and setup QC issues take 1 star away. Otherwise it is a great bang for the buck bass.

This bass is phenomenal. For the price its hard to beat. I know what I like when it comes to basses and this has them all. Satin everything, 35'' scale for the low b, and a good set of electronics. To top it off the flammed maple looks very nice with the gold hardware. Taking all this into consideration I bought the bass without seeing or playing it before hand, and it fully exceded my expectations.

Delivery was fine. The bass has an electrical problem wich makes it unplayable, very disappointed, waited 5 years to get a 5 string.

This one of the best instruments I've ever owned. Sounds super clear, all the notes come to life when playing on this instrument. Soon I'll be uploading a video and a recording of the sound...

I love this bass. It was very awkward getting used to the fifth string for a while but that is not a fault on the part of the bass. Arrived with minor thumb stains as if previously played but it is a lovely instrument. Shecter really seems to make instruments you are proud to own. Id rather have my hand wrapped around the neck of this satin beauty than my Faded gibson sg or bc rich draco guitars. This bass feels good to hold and i really love it.

Schecter continues to impress with the quality of their instruments and highly competitive pricing. The Stiletto Custom-5 is no exception. The online pictures really do it justice but fail to show the gorgeous wood grain. The added gold-tone hardware kicks this bass into aesthetic bliss. The sound and play is no less pleasing. The pickups deliver clean powerful tones from smooth to growling. The satin finished neck is silky smooth with an out-of-box setup that required only a quick tuning. The body design flows with contoured slopes to keep it comfortable for extended play. I pair this with the and could not be happier. If this review was helpful, please click "Yes" below. I was looking to buy a stiletto extreme 5 but the price of the custom dipped below the price of the extreme so I jumped on it. The bass came setup really well in tune and the intonation spot on the body and the neck are really high quality. The frets are high polished and the ends are finished really nicely. The preamp it's a little noisy but i don't mind. The neck is nice shape and the thing plays fast. The action is nice and low and doesnt buzz if you play it appropriately. I got the natural finish and I love the matte finish of the bass. The to e quality is very good. Well worth the money at full price but a steal if you can get it on sale. It's not a four figure instrument so you can't judge against one but it is really really nice for the money. I think any negative reviews are from people who expect way too much from a mid price range instrument.
