The best needles available at a very good price! That says it all. Amazon's price for these 5 packs are the best as are Schmetz needles. Schmetz is what all the ladies in my quilt group use. I was doing a class on applique, so bought enough to give each lady a 60/8 universal needle as this size is not a very common needle to have or use. I only use them for applique with nylon or rayon thread. These needles do a good job of that, but are harder to thread because the eye is so small.

I don’t think these are real Schmetz needles. I’ve had to use 4 of them on one simple project because they’re extremely brittle and break constantly. They fit my vintage Singer 99 fine, but they don’t act like any other Schmetz needle I’ve used before.

Size 60 needle is what I need for fine French sewing or heirloom sewing. Bought these and are working well sewing into the small entredeux I am using with insertion lace. Bought a package of 6 and plan to order more.
