I love the versatility of this microscope. It can be used in the stand to view the included slides, which fit into place with a notch for easy viewing. The 100x and 250x magnification levels provide a good range of magnification. The adjustments on the stand for zoom and focus are easy to use. The variety of included slides provide a good assortment of different things to view, and there is a key to what each slide is in the manual. The scope has a light for illumination from above, so that solid objects can also be viewed. My kids were blown away when we looked at a piece of soil and saw the various minerals and crystals. The scope can also be used without the stand, to view objects in situ. It's a little more difficult to focus this way and keep the microscope steady, but it allows the kids to more freely explore things outdoors. Again, the scope light allows them to view just about anything. Using the scope without the stand also allows viewing of standard microscope slides, as the notch on the stand prevents a standard slide from being inserted all the way.Overall this is a fantastic microscope for kids to explore microscopy in a variety of ways!

This is a super cool little microscope kit! I started looking at it for my classroom, but still haven’t even figured it all out! I’mNot sure it’ll work with my phone the way it’s suppose to because I have 3 cameras. Overall, after you get the batteries this needs, it’s pretty simple to figure out if you have prior knowledge of microscopes! I think it’s great for teaching curious minds!
