SA makes great fly fishing products, this tippet included. Strong, supple, holds knots beautifully. The rubber band holds the tippet on as you pull it off, preventing uncoiling and a mess. They also have a built-in cutter, no nippers needed. I like this tippet better than Rio.

I have used the tippet material before and have had good results. However, When it arrived, there was a postage due of $3.80 on it. A family member accepted it otherwise I wold not have accepted it.

If you're not willing to lay down the $$ for fluro, then this is the best I've found. I love the built in cutter that SA has, and the quality of the nylon is just fine for most trout I've met. Save the fluro for those really picky fellas.

I started using this when Maxima became harder to find due to shortage and love it. It’s thinner than Maxima with less stretch and equivalent breaking strength.Maxima’s thickness may lend it a lead in abrasion but many times I do not need such. I have used it for trout and steelhead and it holds w/o issue in a Non Slip Mono Loop and Orvis Knot. I use 4x-5.5x for trout and 1x-3x for steelheed.

I really like the plastic roll and the elastic band that encloses the tippet. More functionality than other top brands.

Liking SA tippet for a while now. The line cutter is a bonus. I wish ever tippet spool had this feature. The rubber band is also a much better solution to band holding the line in the spool.
